What the Day Looks Like

Everything you need for the day on the water will be provided for you! All you need is a brew, some butties! (There is also a cafe on site!) and your enthusiasm!

  • Full lure selection

  • Unhooking tools

  • Safety kit

  • Pike hotspots mapped out and ready to hit

What You’ll Learn

This isn’t “here’s a rod, good luck”. I will coach you through everything:

  • How to set up safely and confidently for pike fishing

  • How to work different lures with confidence (Jerkbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits etc)

  • Watercraft

  • How to find active fish and target hotspots

  • Strike timing, lure control, bite detection

  • Safe landing, unhooking, handling and returning fish

  • Best practices that protect both you and the pike

By the end of the day, you’ll fish smarter, safer, and with way more confidence!

Pike Safety & Handling

Handling pike can be daunting at first, they come armed with a mouth full of teeth.  They earn that respect, and you’ll learn exactly how to give it:

  • Calm landing

  • Controlled handling

  • Correct & safe unhooking

  • Fish care

  • Clean, safe release

If you’ve ever been nervous about unhooking or handling pike, that will end on your trip with me!

Photos & Video

Want memories? Want content? 
I’ll capture the day with professional photography gear: Drone, photos, clips, even a little highlight reel if you want it. AND.... If the water quality is clear, we will use my underwater cams to capture the strike too! (Water Clarity will dictate this on the day).

Who Am I?

I’m Stu, A predator angler, filmmaker, lure tinkerer, and the bloke who’s spent more hours chasing pike ovver the past 30 years than is probably healthy. I’ve fished all over the UK, filmed it, taught it, lived it, and built a business around helping people catch these incredible fish safely and confidently.

I’m not a “textbook coach”. I’m a hands-on, real world angler who’s learned everything the hard way, through thousands of casts, missed hits, big wins, and the kind of days that make you fall in love with pike fishing all over again.

I run Northern Waters Media YouTube Channel, create predator fishing content, write ebooks, and spend most of my life either on the water or planning the next session. I know the behaviour, the biology, the hotspots, the patterns, the gear, and the techniques that actually work, not the stuff recycled online.

And when you’re on the boat with me, you’re getting all of that. The experience, the knowledge, the mistakes I’ve already made so you don’t have to, and the passion for doing pike fishing properly, with skill, respect, and a bit of adrenaline.

The Important bit!

Terms & Conditions
Pike Fishing Coaching
Booking & Payment

  • A 50% non‑refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session.

  • The remaining 50% balance is paid on the day of the coaching session before we head out on the water.

  • Bookings are confirmed only once the deposit has been received.

Why non‑refundable? Your deposit covers preparation, securing the boat, blocking out the date, and turning away other clients. This is standard practice for guided fishing days and outdoor coaching.

Client Cancellation Policy
  • If you cancel more than 14 days before your session, your deposit remains non‑refundable, but you may reschedule once to another available date at no extra cost.
  • If you cancel within 14 days, the deposit is forfeited but you may reschedule.
  • If you cancel within 48 hours, the full session fee may still be charged at my discretion
Weather & Safety
Your safety comes first.
  • If conditions are unsafe (high winds, storms, extreme cold, lake iced over, or anything that makes boat fishing dangerous), I will cancel & postpone the session.
  • If I cancel due to weather, you will be offered:
    • A free reschedule, or
    • A full refund of your deposit if you cannot reschedule.
Catch Disclaimer
Fishing is unpredictable. While I’ll take you to proven hotspots and teach you the best methods, catches can never be guaranteed. Your booking covers the coaching, equipment, and full guided experience, not a guaranteed fish.
Equipment & Conduct
  • All rods, reels, lures, traces, nets, mats, and unhooking tools are provided.
  • Clients must follow all safety instructions and fish handling guidance throughout the day.
  • Any deliberate misuse or damage to equipment may incur a replacement fee.
  • Alcohol or recreational drugs are not permitted during the session.
Photography & Video
  • Photos and video clips may be taken throughout the day.
  • You are welcome to use them for personal or social media use.
  • I will never use your images for marketing without your permission.
Liability
  • By booking, you acknowledge that fishing and boating carry inherent risks.
  • You agree to follow all safety instructions.
  • I am not liable for injuries caused by ignoring safety guidance or reckless behaviour.
Age & Requirements
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Basic mobility is required for safe boat access and landing fish.
